Advance notification of amendments to the ICCP Comprehensive Procedures and Guidelines
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN,
The International Conformity Certification Program (ICCP) Guidelines are regularly reviewed as part of the overall process to develop,
In addressing the concerns raised by these parties over the safety and authenticity of certain products, we have responded accordingly by expanding the current products list of the ICCP to mainly include: Vehicle Spare Parts, Gas cooking and heating appliances. Imported counterfeit, and unsafe products that are readily available locally, pose some of the highest risks to the safety of our consumers. The feature of the Program that allowed shipments with FOB value up to US$5,000 to be exported without the necessary Certificate of Conformity(CoC), was being used by certain exporters as a loophole to circumvent compliance with the relevant requirements. It will reduce the number of unsafe products found in the local market, and help genuine suppliers to increase their share of the local market, without inflicting any adverse effects on existing or future participants in the Program.
